MacKenzie (Castell), Judith "Judy" Elaine - 79, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2019 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, Nova Scotia. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Parker Eugene and Margaret Zeru (Barclay) MacKenzie. 

Judith is survived by her daughter, Desiree Castell and grandsons, Isaias Vargas and Shawn Ryan. She was predeceased by aunts, Vernie Hunter (Barclay); Alice Alford (Barclay); Rose Patton (MacKenzie); Vernie MacKenzie.

Judith spent her life teaching and helping others and cared deeply for her family and friends. She was energetic and adventurous and she always led with wit, kindness and love. Those who knew Judy will remember her warm heart, grace, empathy and compassion.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where a Celebration of Life will be held 2 pm Monday, December 9, 2019, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will be held at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
