Lillian Christine "Lil" Chester
Chester, Lillian Christine "Lil", 80, Truro, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in the QE II Health Science Centre, Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Peckham) MacPherson. Mom worked as a Taxi Driver for Layton’s Taxi for 10 years prior to her retirement. She was also blessed with a gifted set of hands which showed very strongly in her art work, working with color pencils and also her oil and acrylic paintings. Mom was the kindest and sweetest soul you would have ever met and would help anyone. Her eyes would always sparkle with happiness when talking about going to meet Jesus. She is at her peace.
She is survived by daughters, Darlene Lewis, Debbie Lewis (Marty); son, Stephen Lewis; grandchildren, Rosemarie, Jason, Christopher, Jamie, Erin, Justine; great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Lincoln, Miley, Brooklyn, Amelia, Jacey; brothers, Edward (Thelma), Duncan, Donald, Neil (Brenda); sisters, Gloria Delaney, Joanne Cunningham, Sandra (Jerry) Brenton.
She was predeceased by her husband James Chester; granddaughter Cherie in infancy.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro where visitation will take place on Wednesday Jan.15th from 12 noon until funeral service time at 2 pm. Reverend Connie Stewart will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro Poppy Fund.
