Alexander William "Sandy Bill" Faulkner – 57, Ottawa, Ontario, formerly of Truro. It is with great sorrow that we announce the recent passing of our brother, Alexander Faulkner, youngest son of the late Allen Gordon and Harriet Anne (Archibald) Faulkner. (Truro)

An outdoorsman at heart, Alex could not be happier than when he was perched over a creek with a fishing rod in his hand, hunting game in the woods of Colchester County or camping under the stars. The only shortcoming of such a living arrangement, he would have said, was the lack of a hockey game to watch. Much like the stray animals he would adopt and feed, Alex was a solitary man in an urban landscape. He did not get into the woods very much anymore.

Alex is survived by his siblings, Ruth, Chris (Terryl), Paul, Cathy (Joe Pinto), Alan (Saida), Jane Henderson (Joel), Irene Van Zeumeren (Paul); aunts, Marian Faulkner, Marilla Faulkner; special aunt, Rhoda Rushton; many cousins, nieces and nephews from the East coast to the mountains of British Columbia.

A funeral service will be held at a later date. Donations in Alex’s memory to Colchester SPCA, Truro Homeless Outreach Society or charity of choice are welcomed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Alex’s obituary on-line and selecting "Send A Condolence" at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
