Glendon Whitney “Glen” Prime - 86, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday evening, April 20, 2012, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born July 31, 1925, in Truro, he was a son of the late Ervin and Jennie (Barkhouse) Prime.

Glen owned and operated G.W. Prime Welding for many years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, touring around on his scooter and going to Five Islands for a good feed of clams and chips.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Donna (Charles) Ferris, Hilden; grandchildren, Scott (Vanessa) Ferris, New Glasgow; Kevin Ferris (Traci Northup), Kimberley Ferris (Jason Beaton), all of Truro; great grandchildren, Timothy, Jared, Brittany, Katelyn, Brooklyn, Brianna, Kaleigh, one more great granddaughter expected; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Doris Helen (Reid); brothers, Sinclair, Curtis; grandson, Timothy in infancy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Glen’s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012, and where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012, Reverend Cory Somers officiating. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Glen’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice are welcomed.
