Frederick Peel Lynds - 77, Valley, passed away peacefully,
surrounded by his loving family, on Friday evening, May 4, 2012, at
Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born September 25, 1934, in
Onslow Mountain, he was a son of the late Perley and Ruby (Benedict)
Lynds.
Fred worked as an upholsterer for many years before retiring
and devoting his time to his favourite hobby, "Dolly and the
Hayshakers".
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy
(Bailey); daughter, Anita Lynds (Gary McKinnon); son, Darren (Cathy);
grandchildren, Adam McLean (Heidi Weatherbie), Blake (Laura) McLean,
Michelle Lynds (Scott Smith); Ashley Lynds; great grandchildren,
Taylor, Alex; sisters, Margaret (Cyril) Levy, Marion Brown. Along with
his parents, Fred was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank Dr. Blair, Dr. McGibney and the nurses
of 3 North and 4 East, Colchester Regional Hospital, for the wonderful
care they provided.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Fred’s family
will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012. Honouring
Fred’s wishes, all are invited to attend a graveside
interment service that will be held 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2012,
at Bible Hill Cemetery, Warren Drive, Bible Hill. Family flowers only.
