Helen Marie Taggart - 91, Truro. It is with deep
sorrow that the family announces the passing of Helen Taggart on
Friday, April 19, 2013, at Victoria Way, Cedarstone Enhanced Care,
Truro. Born May 14, 1921, in Manganese Mines, Colchester County, Helen
was a daughter of the late Crosby and Maude (Nelson) Hoare, and the
last surviving member of her immediate family.
Helen spent her early years in Bible Hill until marrying the
love of her life, Bruce. She then spent the next 25 years raising a
family and traveling the world as an Armed Forces wife, prior to
Bruce’s retirement to Hilden in the 70s. She enjoyed
traveling the province with Bruce on their many trips, loved spoiling
her children and especially her grandchildren, and was always ready
for anything. Never one to refuse a dare, her humour and the pranks
she carried out are all part of what made up
Helen.
Prior to her passing, she was a resident of Victoria Way,
Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Helen’s family
would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Victoria
Way for their professional care and consideration in Helen’s
life, and for their overwhelming support to our family during her
passing.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Diane (Randy) Trenholm,
Ottawa; son, Wayne, Parrsboro; grandchildren, Kim (Colleen), Andrew,
Ottawa; Tomas (Cynthia), Maryse (Mishel), British Columbia;
great-grandchildren, Tyson, Sophie, British Columbia; sisters-in-law,
Lola Ogden, Truro; Hazel Taggart, Bass River; Jean Taggart, Dartmouth;
numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was
predeceased by her husband, Bruce; sisters, Eulah Ramsay, Dorothy
Holt; brother, Graham; daughter-in-law,
Hermance.
