CHIPMAN, Wilfred Edward – Debert, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Bill and Edna (McLaren) Chipman. Beloved husband of 58 years to Joan;  dear father of Linda (Lenny), Gerri, Richard (Lena); brother of Dorothy (Jim), Marilyn (Les), Marshall (Phyllis), Bob (Nancy); cousin of James Chipman; devoted grandfather of five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; uncle to several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joan. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Wilfred’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014, followed by a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. with Carol Gillard M.
