Edith Joyce MacKay - 75, Truro, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born April 24, 1938, in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Frank Martin and Ariel Maude (MacLellan) McLellan.

Edith was a former accountant for the Finance Department of the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing for 25 years. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Club, loved to play bingo, cards, make crafts, crochet and enjoyed going for long drives. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by daughter, Lynn McNutt (Vincent Chapman), Truro; son, Devin McNutt, Truro; brother, Donald F. McLellan, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; grandchildren, Ashley and Dwayne; niece, Sheila Seeton; nephew, Tony Seeton; first husband, Daniel McNutt, father of Lynn and Devin. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her second husband, Wilfred MacKay; sons, Duane and Leland in infancy; sisters, Marilyn Seeton and Margaret in infancy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Edith’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Edith’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society, Lung Association of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice are welcomed.
