Legere, Elmer Eugene- 63, Nuttby, NS.
It is with deep regret that the
family of Elmer Legere announces his peaceful passing after a
courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at home
surrounded by his loving family. Born November 25, 1950 in Truro, he
was a son of the late Reginald and Jean (Milner) Legere of Salmon
River, Col. Co. Elmer was a devoted family man who loved to share his
passions in life with his family. He appreciated nature, gardening,
spotting birds and wildlife, deer hunting, fishing, and exploring the
Atlantic Province’s in the truck camper. He was blessed with
an excellent memory and with the skills and abilities to build or
repair anything he set his mind to, and enjoyed being a 4-H
Woodworking Leader. He loved plowing snow in his 53 Ford Truck, and
spent many summer weekends camping at Bluegrass Festivals with friends
and family. Elmer worked most of his life as a truck mechanic and for
many years he enjoyed the challenge of working on rock crushers with
Aggregate Equipment, travelling the Atlantic Province’s.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years,
Heather (McRae) Legere; special son and buddy Nathan, at home; beloved
daughter Laura (David) Westlake and special grandsons Robbie and Alex,
of Truro; brother Karl of Salmon River; sister Deborah (Blaine
McCurdy) of Manganese Mines; sister-in-law Barb Legere of Debert;
several nieces and nephews. He will be forever loved and missed by
all, especially his family pet Dixy-Chic.
Besides his parents, Elmer was predeceased by
an infant son and an infant daughter; brother
Cecil.
Arrangements are
