Edith A. "Babs"
Walker –
Truro/Amherst. Edith was born in Worthing, England on August 4, 1915,
and was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Hook) Rambridge.
She immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughter in 1951, where
she remained until her death at the age of 99, on Monday, August 18,
2014.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Janet (Archie) Killawee,
Truro; grandchildren, Robert (Jacqueline) Killawee, New Westminster,
British Columbia; Karen Killawee (Allan Henley), Truro; John
(Patricia) Killawee, Halifax; great grandchildren, Luke and Kate
Henley, Truro; Samuel and Sophia Killawee, New Westminster, British
Columbia; several nieces and nephews in England. Along with her
parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry S.
"Johnnie" Walker; brother, Frederick (Ruth)

An animal lover, Edith had a cat companion for as long as she
was able to provide care. In her younger days, she spent many hours as
a volunteer at the IODE New To You Shop in Amherst, Highland View
Regional Hospital Gift Shop and Grove Cottage Museum. Edith was an
avid reader and she greatly valued her independence, which she was
able to maintain until 96 years of age. We are so grateful for the
wonderful care she received at Cedarstone during the last year of her
life.
