Webster John Deuville - 96,
Truro, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, just seven days before his
97th birthday, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in
Bible Hill, he was the son of the late Joseph "Fred" and
Grace (Hamilton) Deuville.
Web was a very hard worker beginning at a very young age. He
served with the Army as a carpenter and worked at various other
occupations such as barber, taxi driver, sold fish, and was employed
with Domtar. His passion and love for the game of hockey lead him and
his wife Marjorie to begin Deuville’s Rink in the late 50s.
The Hockeyville experience of 2006 had a huge impact on his life. The
support of Salmon River and area was overwhelming to Web and showed
how very important the rink and his passion had become to the
community.
He is survived by two daughters, Darlene (Carl) Weatherbee,
Donna McCallum; three sons, Leroy (Virginia), Owen (Lorraine), Ellery
(Sheryl), all of Salmon River, 13 grandchildren; 16 great
grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-laws, Helen, Vivian
and Audrey. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of
62 years, Marjorie Vida (Logan); one daughter in infancy; two sons in
infancy; brothers, George, Herbert, Ivan, Wilfred and
Frank.
