Mitchell, George Earnest, 82, Debert, passed away Monday,
October 13, 2014 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late John and Annie (Bell)
Mitchell. He was a heavy machine operator for many years. George
enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren,
whom he adored, and spending time with his family, taking drives with
Minerva and eating out wherever they would end up. Dad had a love for
carpentry. He was a hard worker and fought to the very
end.
He is survived by his wife of 60-years Minerva (Swan)
Mitchell; son Allen (Sylvia) of Debert; daughter Ruth Patriquin (Bob)
of Great Village; grandchildren Marie Mitchell (Less Wallace), Melissa
Mitchell (Mike Taylor), David Patriquin (Amy Nichols), Dawn
Patriquin-Slack (Kyle); great-grandchildren Nathan, Hannah, Aidan,
Samantha, Liam, Logan, Erica; sister Jean Mitchell of Debert; several
nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother Gordon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral
Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where visitation will take on
Tuesday from 6-8 pm and where funeral service will take place on
Wednesday Oct. 15th at 2 pm with a reception to
follow in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mahon Cemetery,
Great Village. Donations in memory may be made to the Kidney
