Myrtle Iona Atkinson – 88, passed away
peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2014, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care,
Truro. Born March 10, 1926, in England, she was a daughter of the
late Henry and Myrtle (Butler) Amey.
Myrtle enjoyed playing crib, but only if she could win! She
was known as the "Crib Champion" at Cedarstone and was also
a great knitter.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Marion Atkinson (Michelle
Gouffray), Cheltenham, Ontario; son, David Atkinson, Barrie, Ontario.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest
Cecil Atkinson; son, Michael Peter Atkinson; sister, Marion (John).
Special thanks are extended to the staff at Cedarstone Enhanced Care,
and family friends, Albert McNutt and Peter Wenk, for always being
there for Mother.
Private interment has been held in Watson Cemetery. If so
desired, donations in Myrtle’s memory to SPCA are welcomed.
