Brian Walter
Hubbard – 67, Truro,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday
afternoon, November 29, 2014, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre,
Truro. Born January 27, 1947, in Truro, and growing up in River John,
he was the son of Marie (Cowieson) Hubbard, Truro, and the late Walter
Hubbard.
Brian worked at Scotia Furs for over 35 years and then with
Chignecto Regional School Board as a school bus driver. He truly loved
driving school bus; he loved the kids, the kids loved him and many of
them would see him in later years and tell him of the positive impact
he made on their lives. Brian had a huge heart, and would
give anyone in need the shirt off his back. He enjoyed teasing people,
meeting new friends and reconnecting with old friends.
Along with his mother, Brian is survived by his son, Robert
(Christena) Hubbard, New Glasgow; grandson, Jayden; his partner, Aleta
Delorey, Truro. Along with his father, he was predeceased by his wife,
Barbara (Zinck) Hubbard. Special thanks are extended to Dr. David and
Bianca Blair, Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health
Centre, and to his dear friend, Albert, who has been there for Brian
for many years and ensured he had a home cooked lunch every
day.
