McKenzie, Muriel Ella, 87,  Amherst and formerly of Truro, passes away Monday, December 8, 2014 in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Lorneville, February 1, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Gertrude (Vance) Spence. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her 11 out of 12 children, Judy, Melvin, Victor (Dianna) all of AB, Glenn (Angie) , Hugh of BC, Vernon, Marvin of Sask., Brian (Carolyn) of ON, Marilyn Adams (Curtis) of Portapique, Patsy Smith (Kenny) of Londonderry, Barb Bryanton (Stan) of Bible Hill. 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Cecil McKenzie; son Larry Spence; siblings Dorothy (Lorne Whippee), Evelyn (Garnet Kaulback), Stanley, and Milford Spence.

No visitation by family request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A graveside service will take place at a later date in the Folly Village Cemetery, Glenholme. Donations in memory may be made to the SPCA Truro.
