Denis Michel Doucet – 27, Bible Hill,
passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, as the result
of a motor vehicle accident on Kellys Mountain. Born November 16,
1987, in Yarmouth, he was the son of Michel "Mike" and
Cheryl (d’Eon) Doucet.
Denis graduated from CEC in 2006 and then went on to take a
welding course at NSCC, Port Hawkesbury Campus. He was a member of
Boilermakers Local 73, working as a boilermaker and was in his last
six-week block for obtaining his Red Seal Certificate.
Denis’ interests were numerous and he gave his all
into whatever he did. Growing up, he was involved in numerous sports
and worked as a life guard, ski patrol and hockey referee. He was a
lover of the outdoors, nature, yoga, animals and fire spinning. Denis
had a huge heart and many will remember his awesome smile, radiating
energy and for standing up for the little guy or anyone who needed
help. Although he worked away, he took the time to keep in contact and
catch up with everyone though personal visits, phone calls or
computer.
Along with his parents, Denis is survived by his sister,
Danielle Doucet, Bible Hill; several aunts, uncles and cousins across
Canada and United States. He was predeceased by his maternal
grandparents, André and Cecile d’Eon; paternal
grandparents, Gerard and Marjorie Doucet; uncle, Denis
Doucet.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday,
December 12, 2014, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669
Prince Street, Truro, Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception
will follow in Campbell Hall.
Denis will be transferred to Yarmouth, where Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014,
in St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Anne du Ruisseau,
Father Albeni d’Entremont officiating. Interment in the
parish cemetery. Reception will follow in Club Acadien. In lieu of
flowers, Denis’ family request that you make a donation in
his memory to SPCA or Truro Boys and Girls Club.
