Jack Cyril Davy (Retired Sgt.) – 86,
Truro, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife at his side, on
Wednesday evening, December 31, 2014, at home. Born March 1, 1928, in
Pictou, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lilla (Corbin)
Davy.
Jack joined RCAF in 1949 and worked as a technician for 33
years of unblemished service. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golf,
badminton, racquetball, skiing and jet skiing; he enjoyed skiing until
age 70. He also enjoyed music, dancing and playing
bridge.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lorraine
(Taggart); Jack’s children, Valerie, Janice, Mark, all of
Ontario; twin brother, Arthur "Art" Davy
(Elizabeth), Truro; step-brothers, Robert Morash, Ontario; Charles
(Jinny) Morash, Texas; godsons, Aaron (Monica) Bentley, Texas; James
Bentley, Chicago; mother-in-law, Lola Ogden, Truro; several nieces and
nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Jack’s
family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015,
and where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 6,
2015, The Reverend Lori Ramsey officiating. Reception will follow. If
so desired, donations in Jack’s memory to SPCA or
Children’s Wish Foundation are welcomed. Private messages of
