Blackmore, Betty Margareta; With deep sadness the family of Betty Margareta Blackmore, age 82, of Upper North River, announces her passing on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre Truro. Born in Tatamagouche Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Reta (Murray) MacRae. Betty was secretary treasurer of the Blackmore Memorial Cemetery in Upper North River for many years and also coordinated the Central North River Card Party. Betty is survived by daughter, Sheila (John) Wilson, Kemptown; son, Sterns (Laurie) Blackmore, Valley; grandchildren, Traci (late Dave Brown) Wilson-Brown, Stacy (Corey) Langille, Kirk Blackmore, and Morgan (Matt Stone) Blackmore; great-grandchildren, Sadie, Mila and Jase Langille, and Abbey Brown; step-grandchildren, Josh (Whitney) Goguen, Jayson (Trish) Goguen, and Nicole (Jason) Williams; sisters, Evelyn McNutt, Tatamagouche Mountain; Norma Keddy, New Ross; Alma Swan, The Falls; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Blackmore; a brother in infancy. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 3, and funeral service 2 pm Wednesday, March 4, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. John Parsons officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment at a later date in the Blackmore Memorial Cemetery in Upper North River. Family flowers only.
