Linda Anne DeGrass, 70, of North River, passed away at home on March 4, 2015. Born July 28, 1944 in Woodstock, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel Jarvis. Crowned Miss New Brunswick in 1962, she met her future husband Roger DeGrass, of Presque Isle, Maine, while working at the University of New Brunswick. They were married for 49 years, residing for the last 37 years in North River, NS. Linda enjoyed the simpler things in life having stayed at home and raised her kids, but enjoyed working part time at the Truro Raceway and volunteering at local cat shows. Her love of cats and other animals was a true passion.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Roger; sons Randal Arthur DeGrass of Truro, NS,  Derek John DeGrass (Melodie) of Fall, River, NS; grandchildren Madison and Tyler and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by siblings Juanita Madson of Loudon, Tennessee; Jean Pantry of Charlottown, PE and Audrey Sherwood of Waterloo, Ontario.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the SPCA, Truro or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
