Winters, Iris Frances (Fielding), 88, Truro, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born September 16, 1926, in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mary (Bennicke) Fielding.
Iris is survived by a son Timothy of Truro Heights; daughters, Wendy (Charlie) McNutt of Onslow Mountain, Linda (Ron) Sutherland of Belmont, Tammy (Mark) MacKay of Salmon River; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Ruth Hazelton of Port Robinson, ON, Irene (Lawrence) Weatherby of Truro.
She was predeceased by her husband Harvey Winters; sister, Marjorie; brothers, Leslie, Freddie, Eddie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro where Iris’s family will receive friends on Thursday at 1 pm, March 19th with funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Rev. Donna Lawrence will officiate with a reception to follow. Burial will take place at a later date in Truro Heights Cemetery, Truro Heights. If so desired, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of choice are welcome.
