Greta Joan (Lynds) Archibald – 83, Harmony Ridge, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 11, 2015, in Elk Court, Brookfield. Born October 7, 1931, in Bible Hill, she was the daughter of the late Barbara Lynds.

In earlier years, Greta worked for a short time at Stanfield’s before marrying the love of her life, Elwyn, and raising their family. She was a devoted wife and mother and her family was the centre of her life. Greta loved to cook and she will be fondly remembered for her Christmas fudge, made with real cream, and many other delicious baked goodies. She belonged to Central Nova Wesleyan Church for many years.

Greta is survived by her sons, Wayne (Jenny), Truro; Dale (Susan), Calgary, Alberta; Kevin (Margo), Harmony Ridge; daughters, Janice (John) Gero, Saint John, New Brunswick; Karen (James) Morrell, Truro; grandchildren, Jonathan, David, Daniel, Naomi, Kelley, Kristy, Colton, Nicholas, Noah, Abigail; six great grandchildren. Along with her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Elwyn Clifford Archibald; brother, Donald (Patricia) Lynds. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Neil Bower and the staff of Elk Court for their excellent care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Greta’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2015, and funeral service 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations, in Greta’s memory to Central Nova Wesleyan Church, Gideons or charity of choice are welcomed.
