P. Marlene (Corbett) Bogart – 71, Truro,
passed away peacefully, with loving family at her side, on Wednesday
morning, April 15, 2015, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre,
Truro. Born December 21, 1943, in Truro, she was the daughter of the
late Murray and Viola (Barrett) Corbett.
Marlene received her BA (Major in Gerontology) from St.
Thomas University, Fredericton, New Brunswick. (Class of 1995) She
traveled to Hong Kong to teach English, received her Post Graduate
Diploma of Education (PGDE) from Hong Kong Institute of Education
(Class of 2007) and returned to Nova Scotia in 2009. She traveled
extensively throughout the world and was an adventurous explorer who
always had her suitcase packed and ready to go on another
voyage.
Marlene is survived by her son, Jason (Noemi) Bogart, Hong
Kong; daughter, Jennifer Bogart, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island;
granddaughters, Veronica and Kayleigh, Hong Kong; brother, Vaughn
(Angela) Corbett, Lawrencetown, Halifax County; several
nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m.,
Saturday, April 18, 2015, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic
Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Dariusz Miskowicz
officiating. Reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Family flowers
only. If so desired, donations in Marlene’s memory to Heart
and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
