Marie Elizabeth Hayes – 64, Truro. It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Elizabeth Hayes announce that she passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born May 5, 1950, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Elizabeth (Nugent) Dobbin.

Marie lived life to the fullest and loved to travel, garden and being surrounded by her family and friends.

Left to mourn is her best friend and loving husband, Roger Hayes; children, Tamara (Gerald) Brown, Edmonton, Alberta; Daniel (Shelley) Jones, Scotsburn, Pictou County; Isabelle Hayes (Stephane Coté), Montreal, Quebec; Jean-Michele Hayes (Caroline Beaudoin), Montreal, Quebec; brothers: Gerry (Carol Anna) Dobbin, Reidville, Newfoundland; Winston (Marguerite) Dobbin, Blackstock, Ontario; Bill (Judy) Dobbin, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia, Abbey, Madeline, Bridgette and Benjamin. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her previous husband, Cornelius J. Jones (1991); brother, James Dobbin (1999). Special thanks are extended to Dr. Khaled Shen, VON nurses and Palliative Care Team of Colchester East Hants for their excellent care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015, Pastor Steve MacLean officiating. Reception will follow. Private interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Marie's memory to Colchester East Hants Hospice Society are welcomed.
