Shearer, Sterling Alexander, age 65, of Belmont, passed away at home on Saturday, May 9, 2015.  Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Florence (Shearer) Morrow. Sterling was a truck driver most of his life along with doing a lot of mechanical work as well. He was well known and loved by all his family and friends for his quick and witty ways. Surviving are his wife, the former Donna Roode; sons, Roger Shearer, Belmont, and Craig Shearer (Leigh Merrill), Fall River; sister, Wanda (Robert) Logan, Salmon River; brothers, Leo (Gayle) Morrow, Onslow, and Kenneth Morrow, Truro; grandchildren, MacIssac and Reese; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Brian Shearer; grandmother, Elizabeth Shearer who raised Sterling. Visitation will be held 6 ~ 8 pm, Wednesday, May 13, and funeral service 2 pm Thursday, May 14, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Family flowers only.
