Fitton, Jacqueline Mary (Margetts)"Jackie", Truro.
If you are reading this, it means I'm hopefully "up there with my
buddy" having a cuppa. I was born Jacqueline Mary Margetts in
Birmingham, England to the late Leonard and Myra Margetts and raised
in Halifax, Yorkshsire.
After my cremation half of my ashes will be sent to England
where my son and brothers will scatter them on Beacon Hill overlooking
Halifax. So if I'm a little bit late Lord for 'tea' you'll know it's
'milk in first'. What a fantastic ride I've had, awesome partner,
awesome kids and step-kids and blessed with so many wonderful friends.
I worked for numerous years at the Daily News Truro and also at the
Chronicle Herald as well as many newspapers in the Annapolis Valley
including managing editor of the Valley Times. Working on the 'Daily',
part of my beat included the South Colchester area included in that
area were two Mi'kmaw reserves where Ihad the
privilege of going into the heart of both reserves. There I met the
most wonderful, spiritual people many becoming long-time friends.
Going back to school as a mature student, I took the CCA course at the
NSCC Truro Campus and was voted class Valedictorian. After graduation
I worked at Cedarstone Enhanced Care and the
VON.
I'm survived by my common law husband of 16 years Donald
(Willie) Williams Truro; Four wonderful children Mark, Truro; Jane
(Rod) Hunter, Ontario; Simon, England and James (Jennifer), Ontario.
Wonderful step children Nell (Greg) McLaughlin, Economy; John (Kate)
Williams, Ontario; Cindy (Brian) Carter, Truro. Grandchildren; Tommy
Fitton, Cape Breton; Ethan and Sarah Hunter, Ontario; Andrew and Emily

Leicester; Maurice (Margaret), Cambridgeshire; John (Susan)
Scarborough; Andrew (Melanie) Halifax Yorkshire. Also numerous nieces
and nephews and great nieces and nephews. All of whom I am constantly
in touch with and many visit Canada on an annual basis.
I am predeceased by my sister Glynis (Margetts) Reeve and
numerous step-brothers and sisters.

all worked tirelessly to find a cure for this cancer which I can't
spell and certainly and can't pronounce, the Palliative Care Nurse
Lisa Weatherbee; Dr. Henderson and Dr. Smith; last but by no means
least VON Nurse Amelia Fisher and the wonderful staff at the
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro for caring for me when I
was unable to care for myself.
