Landsburg, Hector Murray, 88, of Truro and formerly of
Kemptown, NS, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Cedarstone
Enhanced Care Truro. Born in Kemptown, he was a son of the late Mac
and Viola (Forbes) Landsburg. Hector started working in the logging
camps at the age of 13, eventually running his own camp. He
was elected to 3 terms of office on the Municipal Council and served 3
years as a member of the Colchester County School Board. At
his retirement in 1992, he had worked a total of 18 years for the
Department of Transportation. Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his wife Jessie (Mowatt), sister Hilda Boutilier (Bud), brother
Robert (Bob) and infant brother, Lawrence. He is survived by his
daughter, Barbara Allen (Jim) of Lower Queensbury, NB, granddaughters
Kim Allen of Scotch Settlement, NB, Melissa Allen (Kevin) of Edmonton,
Alta, and Penny Coburn (Greg) of Tweedside, NB, as well as great
grandchildren Nicholas, Jesse, Tyler, Justin and Leah. No visitation
by request. Funeral service will be held 3pm Saturday, July 4, in the
Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. Larry
Harrison officiating, with reception to follow in the funeral home.
Interment will then be held in the Bible Hill Cemetery in Bible Hill.
