Lennerton, Helen Isabel, 86, Old Barns, passed away peacefully July 4, 2015, with her family by her side in East Mountain. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late George and Gladys (McAloney) McAloney. Helen worked for many years for Zeller’s Truro where she retired as the assistant Manager in 1984.
She is survived by children, Paul (Anna) of Ajax, ON; Mike of Camrose, AB; Brenda (Kevin) Nolan of Warwick Mountain; Karen (Steve) Crowell of East Mountain; David (Faye) of Clifton; Bruce of Old Barns; Brian of Old Barns; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Lennerton; son, Donald; daughters, Judy (Glen) Nolan, Helen (Honey) MacKenzie; brother, Johnny MacAloney; sisters, Evelyn Teed, Dorothy Works, Margaret MacDonald.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, from where visitation will take place on Monday from 7-9 pm and where funeral service will take place on Tuesday July 7th, at 11:00 am. The Reverend Gary Yetman will officiate with burial to follow in the Christ Anglican Cemetery, Clifton. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
