Larry Reginald Roode – 75, Salmon River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Frances (Delaney) Roode.

Larry worked as a mechanic at Valley Esso, Goodspeed’s, Brett’s, Pye’s, Rothesay and Home Hardware in Debert from where he retired in 2012. He enjoyed the simple things in life, including watching the wildlife around his home and keeping an eye on the current and expected weather by tuning into The Weather Channel.

Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie (Hagen), Truro; children, Todd Roode (Lindsay Law-Roode), Truro; Troy Roode (Aleasha Pratt), Truro; Trent Roode (Jon Morse), Halifax; Tia Roode (Ian Taylor), Truro; grandchildren, Olivia Roode, Dallas Roode, Lily Roode, Danika Roode, Delilah Roode, Carter McKenzie, Jayda McKenzie, Makayla Wright; brother, Mark (Donna) Roode, Truro; many nieces and nephews. Always by his side was his K-9 companion, Charlie, who the kids think he loved more than them! Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Dale Roode.

Honouring Larry’s wishes, there will not be any visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations in his memory to Hope for Wildlife or Colchester SPCA are welcomed.
