Ian Grant Forbes, Jr.– 54, Masstown. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ian Grant Forbes, Jr. Ian passed away at home on Friday evening, January 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving family and Pastor from his church.

Ian is survived by his parents, Shirley (Cameron) and Ian Grant Forbes, Sr.; his lifelong love, Sandra (Rushton), Masstown; his daughter, Madison (Mitchell) Faber, Truro; expected grandson, Malachi Ian Paul, Truro; sister, Susan (Aaron) Tooker, Camden; brothers, David (Tammie) Rice, Hilden; John Brimicombe, Upper Stewiacke; Craig (Melanie) Boyd, New Glasgow; Donald Richards, Oxford; Peter Forbes, Moncton, New Brunswick; sister-in-law, Ginny (Dave) Buchanan, Masstown; nephews, Branden Rice, Cody Rushton, Lucas Brimicombe; nieces, Rachel Tooker, Bridgit Tooker, Shelby Tooker, Rylee Rushton, Alyssa Rice, Ashley Brimicombe; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins across the Country, including special cousin, Patrick Micheal Smith, Ontario; father-in-law, Hilton Rushton. Ian was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Leona (Fiddes) Rushton. 

Ian worked for many years at Zellers, and then began a whole new career with Cameron Equipment where he was Parts Manager. He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, Great Village, enjoyed many years with Great Village Shotokan Tigers and at yoga classes and hours spent at Masstown Movement Gym; there were not many people he didn’t know or who didn’t know him.

An avid Montreal Canadiens fan, Ian was often heard cheering, "GO HABS, GO!" In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting hockey memorabilia, comic books and watching anything Marvel.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations for a trust fund for his grandson, Malachi, are being accepted at the funeral home.
