Miriam Virginia
Dauphinee – 95, Truro,
passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Cedarstone
Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Wileville, she was a daughter of the
late Harley and Elsie (Fralic) Wile.
In earlier years, Miriam worked as a stenographer with Smith
and Rhuland Shipyard. She was a member of Brunswick Street United
Church where she was active with the UCW, I.O.D.E., United Commercial
Travelers and in earlier years, Mountain Golf and Country Club. She
was a great baker and cook and updated her stove every two years! She
had varied interests which included cards (Bridge), travel, gardening,
rug hooking, knitting and crocheting; her family will forever cherish
the beautiful creations that she made. Miriam loved to entertain
family and friends and her children, grandchildren and great
grandchildren looked forward to seeing what was in the ever
well-stocked goody cupboard!
Miriam is survived by her son, Andrew (Margaret Ann)
Dauphinee, Wileville; grandchildren, Carol (Andrew) Cheyne, Seattle,
Washington; Mark (Marta) Dauphinee, Stanley Section, Lunenburg County;
Connie (Mitchell) Bird, Wileville; Scott (Crystal) MacKay, Bible Hill;
Bradley (Krista) MacKay, Calgary; great grandchildren, Tristan Cheyne,
Adele Cheyne, Amelia Dauphinee, Linden Dauphinee, Maggie Bird, Philip
Bird, Cohen MacKay, Jack MacKay, Brielle MacKay, Hailey MacKay, Allie
MacKay; sister, Doris Timberg, Ontario; many nieces and
nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of
73 years, Philip Roth "Phil"; daughters, Jane (Danny)
MacKay, Joanne Dauphinee; sister, Grace (Rusty) Sabourin; brothers,
Dawson (Beryl) Wile, Bernie (Clarice) Wile.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, September 30,
2021, at Brunswick Street United Church, 250 Brunswick Street, Truro,
Reverend Gary MacDougall officiating. (Please note that space is
limited and you must pre-register by calling the funeral home at
902-893-3177. Masks must be worn and you will be ushered to your seat.
Webcasting of the funeral service will be available at 5 p.m.,
Thursday, September 30, 2021 and will be available on our site for
some time.) Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery, Warren Drive, Bible
Hill. If so desired, donations in Miriam's memory to Brunswick Street
United Church or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are
welcomed.
