Gary David Quillan – 70, Truro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Sheet Harbour, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Hazel (Coady) Quillan.

An avid outdoorsman and music lover, Gary enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Marshville, fly fishing and attending music festivals, especially Stan Fest. He thoroughly enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to Maritime folk music, East Coast music and CBC Radio One. He faithfully followed and cheered on The Pittsburg Penquins. "Out in the shed" was Gary’s happy place, and he and his dog, Baylee would spend countless hours out there relaxing, watching the comings and goings and enjoying each other’s company. Above all, Gary loved his family and cherished time spent with his grandson, Blake.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Deborah "Debbie" (Doleman); daughter, Shannon Quillan, Lantz; grandson, Blake Lumsden, Lantz; step-daughter, Amber Lynds, Eastern Passage; sisters, Betty Ann (Stanley) MacDonald, Sheet Harbour; Agnes Caulier, Halifax; Eileen Quillan, Halifax; Janet Quillan, Halifax; Marjorie "Marge" (Charles) Nelson, Saint John, New Brunswick; Clare Harbury, Hamilton, Ontario; brother, Douglas Quillan (Thelma), Dartmouth; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
