Beulah Lorena Matthews – 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Belmont, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Emma (Laing) Roode.

Beulah was an adherent of Wesley United Church, Belmont, and a life member of United Church Women. She was a business partner with her late husband, Ches, at Belmont Motors.

Beulah was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her daughter, Susan Matthews, Bible Hill; grandsons, Christopher (Trudy) Digout, Halifax; Jonathan Digout, Bible Hill; great grandsons, Cameron and Liam Digout, Halifax; several nieces and nephews; precious family pet, Joey. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Chesley "Ches" Matthews; sisters, Ethel, Lena, Jean, Leona, Freda, Annabelle, Mildred; brothers, Ernest, Chesley, Russell, Ira in infancy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, Reverend Glenn MacLean officiating. Interment in Belmont Cemetery. (Please note that proof of double vaccination and photo identification will be requested prior to entry to the funeral home for the funeral service, and masks must be worn at all times; thank you for your co-operation and understanding.) Webcasting of the funeral service will be available at 12:55 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, and will remain on this website for some time.
