Boyd, Lloyd Hance
– 89, of Truro passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at
Wynn Park Villa. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Robert Taylor
and Edith May (Field) Boyd.
Lloyd was very musical
and loved to play the guitar. At the age of 18, he had his own radio
program at CKCL and was referred to as the ‘Radio
Ranger’. He had the personal privilege of meeting
Hank Snow and was one of the first performers for Eastern Cable
Vision. Lloyd worked as parts manager at Blaikie’s Dodge
Chrysler for many years.
Lloyd is survived by
siblings, Robert Boyd Jr. (Mary), Ontario; Philip Boyd (Judy),
Halifax; and Cynthia Burris (Wayne), Truro; close friend, Helen
McLellan, Quebec; many nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by two sisters in infancy.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young
Street, Truro. A graveside service will be held 2 pm on Friday, May
27, 2022 in Robie Street Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be
