John Frederick "Fred" MacDonald - 80, Townsview Estates, Truro, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Donald H. and Marjorie E. (Smith) MacDonald.

He moved to Truro with his family in the early 1950s. He attended Halifax School for the Blind and later worked at Colchester Regional Hospital for a few years. He enjoyed music and played piano by ear for fellow residents at Townsview Estates and St. Andrew’s United Church where he was a member.

Fred is survived by his sister, Mary Louise Orphey and brother-in-law, Robert D. Orphey, La Jolla, California and his extended family at Townsview Estates.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. Andrew’s United Church, 55 King Street, Truro, Reverend Shannon MacLean officiating. Interment in Old Barns Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Fred’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
