Roberta Mary Elizabeth
MacConnell – 85,
Truro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island, she was a daughter of the late Robert and May
(Quinn) Devereaux.
Roberta is survived by her cherished family, her husband,
Henry; daughter, April; son, Patrick and many precious friends she
loved dearly. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her
brother, Bill; four siblings who died in infancy.
Roberta lived her life with humour, integrity, generosity,
kindness, openness and quietly worked hard to make her community a
more compassionate place. In her lifetime she worked with many people
in AA, taught English to children who moved to Truro from Vietnam so
they could better understand in school, was a mother to all the
neighbourhood children, was a foster mother, opened her home to many
pets, was an avid gardener and was always working on creative projects
to give as gifts to the people she loved. Many
remember her as one of the kindest people they have ever
met.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Robert Graham and the
Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their
exceptional care and concern.
