The family of Mildred
Dolores "Millie" (Weir) MacKenzie – 73, Valley,
Nova Scotia is sad to announce that on Thursday, July 14, 2022, Millie
passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia, with her
loving family by her side at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in
Brantford, Ontario, Millie was the eldest daughter of the late
Lawrence Laughlin Weir and the late Margaret Mae (Kaulback) (Weir)
Marshall.
As a baby, her family
moved to Bible Hill where she grew up and met her husband, Kenneth at
Central Colchester High School. In her younger years, Millie worked at
Stanfield’s until she stayed home to raise her family. As
her family got older, she became an entrepreneur and started
Millie’s Maid Service which she successfully ran for many
years before selling the business in 1994. She then went on to work
with her husband, Kenneth, on his dairy truck until their retirement
in 2008. In their spare time, Millie and Kenneth would build and
remodel homes which caused them to move six times in seven years. In
2009, they were finally able to custom design their retirement home,
where she would live with her husband until she entered Cedarstone
Enhanced Care.
Millie was a very kind
and loving person. Her love and devotion to her family could never be
measured and it showed in her everyday life. She was very artistic and
frequently enjoyed doing arts and crafts as well as tole painting and
in her pastime she enjoyed baking and gardening. She always put others
ahead of herself and frequently volunteered for
www.Angels2theheart.com and blessed many people with her kindness over
many years. Her biggest joy was spending time with her loved ones,
especially her five grandchildren whom she held dear to her
heart.
Millie is survived by

children, Scott (Natalie) MacKenzie, Barrie, Ontario; Sherri MacKenzie
(Hubert Nicholas), Sydney; Margaret Grant, North River; grandchildren;
