Jennie Lynn Robinson – 77, Debert, passed away peacefully, with Tracy and Tami at her side, on Wednesday evening, July 20, 2022, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Salmon River, Colchester County, she was a daughter of the late John and Lila (Singer) Urquhart and foster daughter of the late Logan and Minnie McLean.

Jennie worked as a custodian at Camp Debert, NATO Site at Folly Lake and for Colchester East Hants District School Board at Debert Elementary School, Douglas Street Elementary School, Valley Elementary and Wentworth Elementary School.

She enjoyed quilting, and was very patient with that hobby as she practiced applique, sometimes working on the same quilt for many years. She was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed hiking, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, walking, and fishing for bass and trout. She did enjoy watching hockey and cheering on her favourite team, Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jennie marched to the beat of her own drum, however, she had a heart of gold. She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and they will forever hold cherished memories in their hearts and minds. She was a very bright, feisty and unique spirit who did things her own way.

Jennie is survived by her sons, Tracy (Tami Cory) Robinson, Debert; Scott (Andrea) Robinson, Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren, Sarah Robinson, Debert; Logan Robinson (Leanne Smith), Debert; Grace MacDermott, Calgary, Alberta; Claire Robinson, Calgary, Alberta; great granddaughters, Leah Robinson and Lilah Robinson, Debert; brother, Alton Singer, Bedford; sister, Eleanor Chouinard, Ontario. She will be missed by her dear friend, Dorothy Adams, and her beloved feline companion, Baby.

Along with her parents and foster parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, William Ivan "Bill" Robinson; siblings, Joyce Singer, Paul Singer, and Sharon Rushton.

All are invited to attend a graveside service that will be held 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Folly Mountain Cemetery, just past 1846 Trunk 4, Folly Mountain. If so desired, donations in Jennie’s memory to Colchester SPCA or any other animal rescue organization are welcomed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Jennie’s obituary on-line and selecting "Send A Condolence" at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
