Rosemary "Roby" Barrett – 81, Truro passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, surrounded by family, at Debert Court. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland to Daniel (D.J.) and Mary (Fitzgibbon) MacEachern, she grew up in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Roby was a woman of strong faith, wisdom and selfless kindness. She came to Truro as a Normal College student where she met her husband and soulmate, Bob. They spent a short time in Creignish and then returned to Truro to raise their family and pursue her passion as a teacher.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Roby contributed to the lives of many through her involvement in Marriage Encounter, Religious Education, Women’s Days of Enrichment and many other parish activities. She was a proud CND Associate and truly lived the values of justice, love and compassion.

Roby and Bob spent many wonderful summers at Seafoam and Sunset Watch Campgrounds and loved to be surrounded by family and friends enjoying a barbeque and a campfire. She was often found at the beach nestled into a comfortable chair, reading a good book. She loved to garden and was proud of her beautiful gardens and flower pots.

Roby is survived by her children, Angie (Chris) MacIntyre, Robbie (Jenny) Barrett, Gina (Stephen) White, Michael Barrett; grandchildren, Daniel (Kathryn), Ryan (Lauren), Lauren, Hilary, Gregory (Kiley), Janelle (Simon), Noah; great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Arianna, Linken, Zephyerson, Claire, Jackson; siblings, Michael (Sylvia) MacEachern, Joe (Anne Marie) MacEachern, Peggy (Bill) McVicar, Robert MacEachern, Jerry MacEachern; sister-in-law, Kaye Porter. She will be fondly remembered by many special cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bob"; infant son, Christopher; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Earlene Barrett; brother-in-law, Ron Porter.

The family would like to thank the caring team at Debert Court who have been so good to her these past few months. We are also grateful for the VON nurses and Dr. Neil Bower who provided tremendous care to our mother over a number of years and helped her to remain independent as long as possible.
