Frances Mae Hickmore – 88, of Truro, Nova Scotia, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital in Pictou. Frances was the daughter of the late George Hickmore of England and Lila Mae Lively of Nova Scotia.

In her early years, Frances lived in Vancouver, British Columbia where her mother and father ran a motel. After her father passed away, Frances and her mother moved back to Nova Scotia. Frances worked at the Colchester Regional Hospital for over 30 years in the Housekeeping Department.

Frances retired to Truro Heights and became a member of the Truro Heights United Baptist Church. She enjoyed developing friendships with Phillip and Marilyn, Bob and Merna, Fred and Yvonne, and the ladies at Bayview Homestead.

Frances was a quiet, private person with a quirky, dry sense of humor that would bring a smile to your face. In life, Frances supported many charities to help those in need; therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations to Truro Heights United Baptist Church or a charity of your choice are welcomed.

Graveside service will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Truro Heights Cemetery, Reverend Connie Stewart officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
