Lorne Murray Crozier - 72, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.  Born in Paris, Ontario, he was a son of the late Robert and Jennie (Thompson) Crozier.

Lorne always said that Lynne was the love of his life, and their family spent amazing summers and idyllic Christmases on the family farm just outside Paris, Ontario, where loved ones would gather. He was proud of his parent’s dairy farm. He taught his family the love of nature and nothing made him happier than being with his family, camping, canoeing or on nature walks at Kejimkujik National Park, so long as the five of them were together.

He received his M.Sc. Entomology from MacDonald College of McGill University. He was an Honourary Life Member of N.S. Beekeepers Association, and a member of the Institute of Agrologists, from which he received the 2010 Distinguished Life Member Award. He worked for 35 years with the Department of Agriculture as Provincial Apiculturist, Provincial Entomologist, Small Fruits & Berry Crop Specialist, Minor Use Coordinator and Resource Management Specialist.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Over the years, Lorne sat on every board at the former First Baptist Church, sang in the choir there and later served as a deacon and a choir member at Immanuel Baptist church. As the provincial entomologist, Lorne made presentations to school children and shared his enthusiasm for all God’s creatures. He gave of his time to support the Scouting movement as a Cub and Scout leader.

Lorne is survived by his wife, Lynne (Murphy); son, Stephen (Brenda) Crozier, Nine Mile River; daughter, Tiffany (Steven) Cooke, Valley; daughter, Heather Crozier, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Andrew Crozier, William Crozier, Julia Cooke, whom he adored; brothers, Charles Crozier, Hamilton, Ontario; Dale Crozier, Paris, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Lorne and his best friend, Robin Connor, met while going to university and have kept in touch and remained friends for all of these years.

All are welcome to attend a graveside interment service that will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at Bible Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill, Reverend Michael Fredericks officiating.  If so desired, donations in Lorne’s memory to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Colchester SPCA or Immanuel Baptist Church are welcomed.
