Ronald Percy "Ron, Ronnie" McNutt – 91, Valley, passed away peacefully, with family at his side, on Saturday morning, October 29, 2022, at Magnolia Continuing Care, Enfield. Born in Gays River, he was a son of the late Percy and Florence (Staples) McNutt.

Ronald was a truck driver for most of his working career, starting with Jenkin’s Trucking, then with Eatons in Truro as a delivery truck driver and finally with Webster and Sons, from where he retired. He was a very hard worker, and also talented and handy, and built our family home in Valley and cottage in Five House; he absolutely loved being at the cottage. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his children, Brian McNutt, Valley; Elizabeth "Beth" Joudrey, Hilden; grandchildren, Denise, Craig, Jessica, Brooklyn, Brittany; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edith (Hamilton); sisters, Jean Weir, Dorothy Wyer, Shirley Edwards, Ruth Sutherland; brothers, Fred McNutt, Walter McNutt, Gordon McNutt; half sister, Doris Brown.

The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolia Continuing Care for their wonderful care and for making Dad feel at home while he was a resident there.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022, Reverend April Hart officiating. Interment in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. If so desired, donations in Ronald’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
