June Avis
Smith – 86, Truro,
passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Wednesday
afternoon, November 23, 2022, at The Mira Long Term Care Centre,
Truro. Born in Greenfield, Colchester County, she was a daughter of
the late Harry and Rosalie (MacKenzie) Patton.
June loved the Lord and it was her joy to serve Him as a
loving wife and mother. Being a Registered Nurse was a dream fulfilled
for June and her love and concern for others continued throughout her
life. Playing the piano and organ, and singing, were a great pleasure
that she willingly shared with others and learning to play the violin
in later life was a challenge she took on with gusto.
June is survived by her children, Heather Smith, Wolfville;
Marcia Smith (Ken Chisholm), Hantsport; brothers, Morris Patton,
Truro; Everil (Margaret) Patton, Bible Hill; four grandchildren; many
great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she
was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Simeon "Bud" Smith;
daughter, Margaret Ann Smith; brother, Russell (Marjorie)
Patton.
June’s family would like to thank the staff of The
Mira for the friendship, love and care they have provided June over
the past four and a half years! You have not gone
unnoticed!
