Barry Francis Williams – 71, of Truro passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Canso, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Verna (Williams) Dort.

Barry was a truck driver for most of his life and when he wasn’t working he loved to go hunting and fishing. He was a social butterfly and was always telling funny jokes. He had a wide circle of family and friends.

Barry is survived by his wife of 15 years, Barb; sons, Jonathan, Alberta, Bradley (Shannon), Ontario, and Sheldon, Alberta; daughters, Stephanie (Doug), Alberta, Keri, Antigonish and Whitney (Graham), New Glasgow; step-children, Margaret (Brian), Newfoundland, Stanley (Hellen), New Brunswick, Dwayne, Ontario and David, Newfoundland; brother, Paul (Freda), Lower Sackville; sisters, Diane, Eureka and Katherine, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Phoebe (Paul), Eva and Rebecca, all of Newfoundland;12 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family wish to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Emergency Department at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. They did everything possible to help Barry.

Honouring Barry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. If so desired, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada are welcomed.
