Rose Mary Nolan – 62, of Truro, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Barbara (Hanes) Pulsifer.

Rose was the president of Local 470 at NSGEU. In her earlier years, she worked at the Best Western Glengarry as a chef and then at Stanfields. Rose was a familiar face at NSLC where she worked for over 20 years. When she wasn’t working, she could be found drinking a "cold blue" while chatting with friends and family or video calling with her "Pumpkin Pie", Emily, who she loved to the moon and back. She was very hard working, spoke her mind and would do anything she could for anybody.

Rose is survived by her husband, Mike Nolan; daughter, Amanda (Justin) Dobson; special granddaughter, Emily Dobson; siblings, Carolyn (Jimmy) Nelson, Bobby (Debbie Burris), Brenda (Bob) McCoul, Joan (Paul) Clough, Debbie Glazebrook, David (Annmarie) Pulsifer, Wade (Laurie) Pulsifer, Bonnie Pulsifer (Dave Skinner), Wendy (Steve) Bonin; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sister, Cheryl Thompson; brother, Reggie; and brother-in-law, Blake Glazebrook.

Special thanks are extended to all of the staff on Intensive Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for your care and compassion.

Honouring Rose’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will take place at a later date.  If so desired, donations in Rose’s memory to IWK or any children’s charity are welcomed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Public messages of condolence may be sent to the family by viewing Rose’s obituary on-line and selecting "Send A Condolence" at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
