Myrtle Eileen Russell – 94, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Brule Point, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Eva (Langille) Weatherbie.

Myrtle attended the United Church in Dartmouth and Brule. In earlier years, she worked at Fulton’s Drug Store in Tatamagouche and later went on to own her own business, Myrtle’s Beauty Shop, in Amherst, Dartmouth and Tatamagouche.

Myrtle was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by her daughter, Barbara Anne Marchbank, New Annan; son, Tony Russell, Halifax; grandchildren, Krista, Brittany, Matthew, Kristen; great grandson, Xavier Lee; niece, Sharon Drover; nephews, Roderick Laybolt, John Roy Weatherbie. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Royce Clive Russell; sister, Grace (Donald) MacKinnon; brother, Lionel Weatherbie.

All are welcome to attend a graveside funeral service that will be held 11 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2023, at Lockerby Cemetery, corner of Route 6 and Sand Point Road, Tatamagouche, Pastor Ian MacFarlane officiating. No flowers by request. If so desired, donations in Myrtle’s memory to a charity of choice are welcomed.
