Marjorie Lepper – 88, Truro, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Blackpool, England, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Greenop) Thomas.

Marjorie was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of CWL and sang in the choir. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in England and after moving to Nova Scotia she taught in Kingston, Tatamagouche, Truro and circuit French in the Stewiacke area. She was also a member of Retired Teachers Organization (RTO). 

She was an avid square dancer and belonged to Cobequid Twirlers Square Dance Club and enjoyed bowling. She was also a member of Colchester Historical Society; she enjoyed knitting "Comfort Blankets" for their fundraising and also for Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre to give to their patients. She also knit Izzy Dolls and other items.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Trevor Lepper, Calgary, Alberta; Donna Lepper, Truro; grandson, Tyler Stewart (Cassie), Truro; brother-in-law, Michael Broderick, England; former husband, Donald Lepper, Bible Hill; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Broderick; brother, Trevor (Barbara) Thomas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Andrew Rembarczyk officiating. Reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Interment at a later date in Crossroads Cemetery, 110 Salmon River Road, Valley. If so desired, donations in Marjorie’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society or The Lodge That Gives (Canadian Cancer Society) are welcomed.
