Mary "Rita" Doucet, a loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 82 years, with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Rita was born and raised in New-Carlisle, Quebec. She and her husband, Wilfred moved to Truro later in life where she has passed away. 

 

Rita is survived by her husband, Joseph "Wilfred" Doucet of 62 years, born in Halifax,  and raised in Grand Etang, Cape Breton; her children, Evelyn Jackson (Mark), Christine Beaudry (Leo), Darcy Doucette (Brenda); her grandchildren, Tanya Doucette, Dalton Doucette, Devin Doucette, Amber Doucette, Shawn Huntington (Ashley), Joey Huntington (Tina), Corey Beaudry (Ashley), Paige Beaudry (Kyle), Sonya Beaudry (Colton), Jill Connors, Hannah Landsburg (Patrick), Tristen Doucette, Kolby Doucette (Brittany Otterson), Brandon Doucette, Tyler Doucette; great grandchildren, Paiton Huntington, Miley Huntington, Sophia Weddleton, Wesley Weddleton, Raevyn Beaudry, Brantley Landsburg; her siblings, Bertha Ross (Donnie), Marg Lapointe, Oscar Smith.

 

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Wayne Doucette and five of her brothers. 

 

A Celebration of Rita's life will be held at a later date. If so desired donations to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
