Robert Gordon "Bob" Gay – 82, North River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Gordon and Evelyn (Wolf) Gay.

Bob loved to tinker with electronics, radios and televisions, and so it was fitting that he operated an electronics repair shop right next to his house for many years. In earlier years, he had his private pilot’s license and flew out of Debert; he was fascinated with airplanes and built many model planes over the years. He was meticulous with landscaping and yard work and took great pride in his property.

He and Derek used to take many trips to Wentworth to go trout fishing, and he also loved old time country music. Bob and Diane enjoyed their best days together gardening, going to yard sales and Friday fish and chips at the Legion with their dearest friends.

Bob is survived by his son, Derek Gay (Sharon Burke), Hilden; wife and soul mate of 30 years, Dianne (Cleary) Langille, North River; step-daughter, Caroline (Tim) Shea, Bible Hill; step-grandchildren, Calum Spencer, Westin Shea, Connary McGee; sister, Vivian (Frank) Allwood, Halifax; nieces, Lynne Gay, Truro; Crystal Gay, Dartmouth; Shannon (Jason) MacPhee, Quispamsis, New Brunswick; great niece, Amelia MacPhee, Quispamsis, New Brunswick. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Steven Gay; step-daughter, Tara Langille-McGee; brother, Harold (Sandra) Gay.

Thanks are extended to Marie Lewis and Palliative Care Unit (CEHHC) for their care. Interment will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations in Bob’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed.
