Virginia Mae "Ginny" Roberts – 92, Montrose, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at home. Born in Montrose, she was a daughter of the late Sanford and Lenora (Dunham) Urquhart.

In earlier years, Virginia worked at Stanfield’s, but raising her family was most important. She was the matriarch of our family and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She belonged to TOPS and was active within her community, volunteering with various groups and wherever there was a need, enjoyed cooking, reading and watching Western books and movies, especially any with John Wayne and Randolph Scott.

Virginia is survived by her children, Burton (Linda) Roberts, Economy; Philip Roberts, Portaupique; Linda (Dean) Rushton, Highland Village; Ross Roberts, Debert; Michael Roberts, Montrose; Frank (Patty) Roberts, Highland Village; Paul (Carolyn) Roberts, Highland Village; Roy Roberts, Highland Village; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cyril Collins Roberts; daughter, Grace Roberts; daughters-in-law, Anne Roberts, Florence Roberts; grandson, Leslie Rushton; great granddaughter, Bleu Roberts; siblings, Albert, Leida, Marion, Harold, Russel, Graham, Robert, Alfred, Alice, William, Joyce.

Special thanks are extended to Bass River Fire Brigade for your care, assistance and help over the years, along with VON, Susan Dodsworth and Nurse Practitioner, Lynn Miller for your care and compassion. Private interment will be held at a later date in Portaupique Beach Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Virginia’s memory to Portaupique Beach Cemetery are welcomed.
