James Allan Wallace Stewart - 68, of Truro, formerly of Thorburn and New Glasgow, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late William "Bill" and Constance "Connie" (Holden) Stewart of Thorburn.

In his younger days, James was employed in the forest industry. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow. He was also a longstanding member of the AA group. James enjoyed dancing, fishing and a good game of cards. He loved to go to wrestling matches where he always had a front row seat.

James is survived by his brother, Gerald (Margaret) Stewart, New Glasgow; sister, Cindy Anderson, New Glasgow; along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Arnold and Samuel Stewart; sister, Joyce Murray.

A graveside service was held for family and friends on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Thorburn Cemetery, 620 Marsh Road, Thorburn. If so desired, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the SPCA.
